The Space Between explores that quiet, in-between moment where light shifts, colour hums, and the world seems to hold its breath. It’s not about the trees themselves, but the atmosphere that lives around them — the tension and harmony that exist between stillness and movement, structure and freedom.
Painted with expressive, gestural marks and layered tones of emerald, lilac, and ochre, this work came to life through intuition rather than planning. I was drawn to the way negative space and overlapping forms create a sense of depth — like walking through the bush and noticing the way paths open up unexpectedly, inviting you into something deeper.
This piece is a reflection of that pause — the space between thoughts, seasons, or steps — where so much quietly unfolds.
