Listening to the Stillness is an invitation to pause and breathe. Inspired by quiet moments in the Australian bush, this painting explores the beauty found in stillness — not empty or silent, but alive with subtle movement, layered colour, and soft light filtering through the trees.
Using expressive brushwork and a palette of rich greens, soft purples, and luminous teals, I wanted to convey the way nature holds space for reflection. There’s an unspoken rhythm to these wild places — one that asks nothing of us but presence. This piece was created intuitively, letting colour and form lead the way, allowing a sense of calm and quiet wonder to unfold on the canvas.
It’s a celebration of slowing down and truly seeing.
